The Forbidden Education (Spanish: La Educación Prohibida) is an independent documentary released in 2012. This documentary film questions the logic of modern schooling—and our very understanding of education—by highlighting different and unconventional educational experiments that suggest the need of a new educational paradigm.
It is a learning project that was created by a group of young people who interviewed more than 90 alternative education teachers in 8 countries. The film was released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license and became the first released movie in Spanish to be funded under a crowdfunding methodology.
The Forbidden Education aims to inspire thoughtful societal debate about the fundamental structure of school, encouraging the development of a comprehensive education centered on love, respect, freedom and learning.
